The Joy of Letting Go of the Lead is a memoir written in the form of a “dance of life” that explores the link between masculine and feminine archetypes through the lens of the Argentine tango. The book “Shut Up and Dance!” was written by her. Essays and articles written by Jamie have been published in a variety of journals, including Coast, Actors Ink, and Huff Post, amongst others. Her workshops have been presented at the PEN America and the SAG Foundation respectively. She also acts as a consultant for authors, assisting them in maximising their readings and appearances in the media. She has worked as a workshop instructor for performers working in television, cinema, and the theatre at several universities. She has had starring roles in a number of films and television series, including Falcon Crest (1981) and Lady Blue (1985), as well as the cult classic Chopper Chicks in Zombietown (1989), in which Billy Bob Thornton had his first significant film role as her husband. Her debut was in a commercial for Kool-Aid, where she played the character of a young go-go dancer.
